Modernisation of listed community hall
The Old Town Hall Weymouth is a Grade II listed building. Its tenants are The Chapelhay Community Partnership Group who use the building for the benefit of the local community and Weymouth at large.
The group wanted to stop any deterioration of the property and then to adapt the building so it can offer the facilities out to other groups and for a focus for community events. The specific requirements of a listed building and the budgetary constraint mean that extra care has to be taken when prioritising the works to be carried out.
The building is being used at present and a period of consultation is taking place before a final scheme can be proposed.
